My stories are sculptures
Universal tales or personal journeys,unsettelling or poetical.
The basic ingredient is an emotion,a gesture,a memory that i try to transform to three dimentions. My world of choice is the one of imagination. Myths, dreams old or new tales, all inspire me. I try to find a maner of « writing » about these subjects that is at the same time oneiric and poetic. That way ,I can sketch the outlines of a world of fantasy ,off balanced and metaphorical .
So, sometimes out of a far corner, appear bewildered little beings half lamps, half human lost in the darkness of the world…a woman desperately searching for words spewing out a torrent of letters…a man tangled up in his blanket discovering that his bed is a boat lost in the tempest…or even a young singer discovering that her metalic ribcage withholds a slight and delicate bird.
All the doors are open, a multitude of metamorphic changelings tumble down onto my work table. Those sculptures are made of resin, the squeleton is steel, they are painted with acrylic and finaly I often add small 12 volt bulbs.
